Jeffrey Harris

Jeffrey retired from a career in Health Care in 2012 following an acute disability from diabetic polyneuropathy and Reflexive Sympathetic Dystrophy. He has been a person with diabetes since 1966. He allocates several hours per week to organizations that articulate a vision for healthcare transformation which includes universal coverage, patient-centered care, evidence-based interventions, and inclusion of each person’s self-responsibility for reducing their risk of developing disease or becoming injured through lifestyle modification.
Currently, Jeffrey is an Advisor to The Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative in Washington DC. He is also a member of several organizations including The Society for Participatory Medicine; The Institute for Healthcare Improvement; The Mankind Project; The North Carolina Healthcare and Communications Alliance; and the National e-Health Collaborative. Jeffrey received a BS in Organizational Behavior and Economics from Franklin Pierce University in 1995 after being trained as a Respiratory & Cardiovascular Therapist at East Los Angeles Community College in 1980.
He is passionate about sharing his 33 years of senior-level healthcare experience in clinical program management, service-line development, social education, chronic disease program leadership and patient-centered medical home implementation leadership to assist a new crop of professionals charged with leading multiple stakeholders to reform our healthcare system.
